Designing your new home. To help make the most of your building process , we suggest you review the following ideas.
Have you:
1. Created your dream-home wish list?
List the new home products you've been dreaming of (carpeting, cabinets, countertops, etc.). Bring this list along for your appointment and we'll work with you to include these items in your new home.
2. Collected magazine images of your favorite styles to share with your builder?
3. Brought along fabric swatches, paint swatches and other accessories to help design your home?
It's always a good idea to bring along pictures, paint chips, textures, etc. to help you with your decision making.
4. Thought about your lifestyle room by room?
Do you plan to use a bedroom as an office? If so, will you need additional electrical outlets for your computer, fax or phone? Do you entertain? Need a kitchen island to create more counterspace? Additional lighting? Do you enjoy surround sound while watching movies? Do you want the added comfort and ambiance created by ceiling fans? Do you have children? Pets?
Thinking and planning in advance will make it easier for the builder to understand your needs upfront, so the need for changes and additions later will be minimal.
